Trust Chairman, Tony Harrop OBE said,
“I am very pleased to announce that the Appointments Commission has confirmed Panos’ reappointment. Non-executive directors play an important role in scrutinising and challenging the Trust’s activities and ensuring that the Board as a whole acts in the best interests of local people. We are delighted that Panos will be able to continue in this capacity at LPT.”
His reappointment is effective from 17 July 2010 for a period of 2 years, which will be an exciting time for the Trust as it moves towards NHS Foundation Trust status.
The appointments process was co-ordinated and approved by the Appointments Commission. The appointee was selected in accordance with the OCPA Code of Practice and will receive a remuneration of £6,096 per annum.
All non executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity to be made public.
