Positive Changes Through Exercise

Once a week the Service Users and Carers attend The Peepul Centre to use its gym facilities. The group has been attending the exercise sessions for approximately ten months now and all have noticed positive changes to their mental and physical health.

Some of the benefits experienced by the group include a more positive outlook, increased self esteem, better confidence, weight loss and improved mobility. The social benefit has meant that the group have made many friends at the centre.

“The fitness sessions have really helped me improve my general fitness. The exercise I have been doing have really improved movement to my left arm and leg. The sessions really make me feel happy.”

“I have problems getting up in the morning and feel tired a lot, but the Peepul Centre GYM sessions really motivate me to get up early and I now look forward to exercising. I really enjoy the sessions which free my mind and body. The exercise has also helped me maintain a healthy weight.”
