Regulates health and social care for England to ensure better care in hospital, care homes and at home. This includes care provided by NHS, local authorities, private companies and voluntary organisations.  Also regulates the providers of services where people's rights are restricted under the Mental Health Act. Ensures essential standards of quality and safty and monitors providers compliance.  Reviews services works to make sure that the voices of people who use health and social care services are heard by asking them about their experiences and placing them at the heart of the Commission's reports and reviews.
