Budgeting Loans
You can apply for a loan if you have been on Income Support or Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance for at least 26 weeks. The amount you are allowed to borrow depends on the size of your family, how long you have been on benefit and how much you already owe in repayment of any previous loans. You can apply for a loan on an SF500 form.
Crisis Loans
Contact your local Benefits Agency office if you need some money in an emergency. To be paid a Crisis Loan you must be facing a risk to your health or safety and the loan must be your only means of obtaining money to help. You must be able to explain how you will pay then money back in the near future. Applications for people living in Leicester should be can be made on telephone 0116 206 8619 / 8681.
