Disability Living Allowance

This is the main benefit for people under 65 who suffer from long term disability or health problems.

The Benefits Agency will assess your day to day needs for care and support and for any help you need when you are outdoors.

If you want to get a claim form for this benefit then contact your local benefits agency, Jobcentre Plus or Social Security office. The form is very long and it is much easier to fill it in if you have an idea about exactly why you might qualify. Telephone Welfare rights before you fill in the form to discuss your situation and what you could put on the form.

For more information visit the Department of Works and Pension web site. You can download a copy of the claims form from the site.
