Publications and Leaflets:
How to search the Publications Database
The publications database has been designed to be as easy, and flexible, to use as possible. The step-by-step guide will, however, give you some helpful tips on how to get the best from your search results.
Your set-by-step guide
- Type in what you are looking for in the search for box. This is a free field so you type as little or as much as you wish. For example, you could use a keyword (like depression), the name of a particular organisation or the title of a specific leaflet or publication.
- Select what category of publication you are looking for. If you are unsure what category you want, or if you want to find everything on a particular topic then select the 'any' option. (please refer to the FAQ for a definition of the category list).
- Whilst you cannot search the database date of publication, you can narrow your search to documents that have been recently updated*. This can be helpful if you are looking for a publication that may have been recently added or amended. All new and updated documents are indicated in the search results.
- Some publications in the database may have an expiry date. For example, a local or national policy or action plan may be valid for a specific period of time and the archived option* allows to you to look for those particular documents.
*Please remember that selecting these options will narrow your search results considerably. You may prefer to omit them initially to keep you search results as wide as possible.
