LAMP Directory
The LAMP Directory provides details of mental health services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, as well as national organisations. You can choose either the quick or advanced search. You will also see other options that are available regarding the Directory.

The LAMP Directory advance search allows to you narrow your search and be more specific in your requirements. Simply select the information you require from any or all of the fields below. Remember that each field you use will act to narrow your search so only use the fields you think are most appropriate.
We have tried to make it as easy as possible to use the LAMP Directory but it is always helpful to have assistance when and if you need it. There are two ways to search the Directory: a quick search and an advanced search.
Using the Quick Search
The quick search is the default option and allows you to select one location and keyword option, or type in the name of a specific organisation, if you know it.
To find a service or organisation in your area:
- Choose a location from the drop down list. You can choose a specific borough, Leicester City, Leicestershire or Rutland Counties or national.
- Choose one of the keywords from the drop down list.
- Click on the search button.
To find a specific organisation:
If you already know the name of the organisation (or part of the name) you wish to find, use the 'Organisation option'. You must ensure that both the location and keyword show the option "Any".
Using the Advanced Search:
The advanced search option gives you a number of search options. In addition to the location and keyword search options offered in the quick search, there are a number of other options available. You can use all or any of the options to help narrow your search.
Explaining the search options:
Location:
To find an organisation or group in your borough area select a location area from the list in the location field. To select more than one location area hold down the Control key to highlight multiple items.
Keyword:
This operates on the same basis as the location field. Hold down the control key to highlight as many keywords as you wish. Please bear in mind that each keyword you chose will act to narrow and define your search.
Age Group:
This is an optional field to allow you to look for services that may be offered by organisations to a specific age group, ie young people or older adults. Please note that the keyword list also includes age options which you may feel are more suitable for your search.
Sector:
This is an optional field to allow you to look for an organisation in a particular sector, namely, voluntary, statutory and independent. The sector usually refers to the type of funding an organisation or group receives. Statutory services are providers of national government, usually NHS, services. Voluntary services (sometimes referred to as the third sector) usually receive funding from local authorities based upon the provision of services to individuals who meet specific criteria. Independent sector organisations are usually national, or local charities who make their own funding income.
Notes:
This is an optional field to allow you to search the the notes field of all entries. This field could be used independently of all other fields if you were looking for a specific word which you feel the other search options do not present.
In addition to being online, the LAMP Directory is also available as a printed directory and on CD-Rom. This can be particularly useful if you do not have access to the Internet but still need to find out what mental health services you can access for support.
