About the Mental Health Promotion Group
This is a multi-agency partnership covering Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. It was re-established in October 2004.
Primary Purpose of the group
- To meet the requirements of the National Service Framework for Mental Health Standard 1 and Making it possible: Improving Mental Health and Well-being in England.
- To inform and influence key partnerships and providers of services also on the wellbeing agenda.
Reporting and Accountability
- The group is accountable to both the City and the Counties Local Implementation Teams.
- The group is an oversight partnership group for the Mental Health and Wellbeing priority within the County Local Area Agreement.

Terms of reference
- To develop a strategy and action plan which:
- Meets the requirements of National Service Framework for Mental Health Standard 1
- Reflects the requirements of Making it possible: Improving Mental Health and Well-being in England.
- Is reflective of local needs and gaps in provision.
- Seek to address issues of capacity and resources.
- Seeks to influence other key strategies and action plans
- Make recommendations arising from the action plan to relevant partners, services and projects.
- To monitor and review the implementation of the action plan on an annual basis.
- To evaluate the impact of the action plan.
- To refresh / up date action plan every three years.
- Review the current mental health promotion provision against the evidence base, identifying any gaps in provision and making recommendations how these should be met.
- Review existing monitoring and evaluation tools and where necessary support the development and improvement of them.
- Identify Key partners, services, agencies and initiatives we need to work in alliance with.
